Anaphalaxis – Managing Being Stung

I would like to thank you and your team for teaching me wilderness first aid this summer. Unfortunately, I needed to use several of the skills I learned this summer. One of the most dramatic situations occurred when I was taking a group of 8 and 9 year olds on a short trip through the woods. On this walk a bee stung one of their staff. This particular staff member had a severe allergy to bee stings. So I had to perform some first aid. The skills I learned in your courses proved to be invaluable in dealing with this situation. Like learning about the use of anti-histamines to slow down or prevent anaphylaxis and also how to use a bag and mud to make a cold pack. Also, your course helped me organize the emergency situation in the woods. Without your course I do not believe this situation would have gone as well as it did. So I want to personally thank you for teaching me, and the person I helped save would also like to thank you.
